Improving CS education using web-based interactive technology
Web technologies make it possible to present entirely new and innovative learning materials and pedagogies for instructors and students, especially within CS and other STEM disciplines, where "learning by doing" is known to be powerful. This talk will introduce the zyBooks platform for CS and then summarize a number of research studies showing how interactivity is helping students succeed, especially in introductory CS and Engineering courses. This talk will also interweave the story of growing a technology company and career transitions from academia to business.
