This is a very exciting time in the life of the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS). In addition to the new 90,000 sq. ft. building, ICS recently received a $20 million gift from philanthropist Donald Bren and has also added world-renowned faculty.

The Department of Computer Science currently has 37 faculty members and 190 Ph.D. students. In addition, there are currently 60 students pursuing an M.S. degree in Information and Computer Science. Almost all of our Ph.D. students receive financial support in the form of teaching assistantships or research assistantships during their time at UC Irvine.

The Department of Computer Science in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (in The Henry Samueli School of Engineering -HSSOE) offers M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Networked Systems.

The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (HSSOE) offers a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering with concentrations in some areas within the field of Computer Science.
